A good angle, Angles-sur-l'Anglin

The castle.
The village.

Castle of the 12th 15th centuries, mentioned in 1025. Historic building since 1926.

The "tour de la prison, the tower of the prison, the Amallec tower, the "petit château", small castle, and the curtains dominate the course of the ANGLIN river, tributary of the GARTEMPE river, approximately 50 m. The castle extended in the beginning over a 230 meters length.

The castle is in the beginning a episcopal fortress. It was owned by, inter alia, Guichard d'Angles, which took part in the battle of Nouaillé-Maupertuis and which due following the traity of Brétigny, May 8th, 1360, to yield the fortress to the English, whom Du Guesclin, 1320-1380, took again in 1372.
After the Hundred Years' War at the 14th 15th centuries, after the wars of religion at the 16th century, after the disorders of "La Fronde" at the 17th century, after the French revolution at the 18th century, the fortress became a ruin, now property of the commune.

ANGLES-SUR-L'ANGLIN is a french commune, located in the department of Vienne of the Poitou-Charentes area, populated of 365 Anglois in 1999, distributed out of 15 km˛, that is to say 25 hab./km˛.

The ANGLIN river valley was occupied since prehistory, of many people left the traces of their passage there.
The Germanic tribe, the ANGLES, would have been established under the reign of Charlemagne at the bank of the river, from where its name and then the name of the village, following the example of Great Britain or England, Angleterre, which they contributed to invade at the 5th century.

Bonjour Joël,

Une trčs belle série de photos ayant pour centre d'intéręt les ruines de ce château fort. J'aime aussi tout particuličrement ta photo avec la vue sur la roue ŕ aube. Commune qui justifie son titre de plus beaux villages de France. Photos intéressantes qui viennent compléter celle de notre ami Philippe. Merci également pour ta note instructive.

This is a great shot of these ruins and fine architecture. The reflection is nice and provides depth and balance for the scene. The bridge creates a nice lead in for the shot. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has good sharpness.

Bonjour Joel

Le point de vue au raz de l'eau donne beaucoup d'ampleur au pont et ŕ la ruine. Le pont en belle ligne de fuite męne le regard vers la ruine. J'aime bien les feuillages en avant plan.

Bonjour Joël,

Les réflexions sur l'eau de la rivičre et la ligne diagonale du pont sont des atouts ŕ la composition. La prise de vue permet de distinguer les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture du château. La qualité de la lumičre met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

PS:Tu es le vrai Trekhearthien,tes notes sont d'une exceptionnelle richesse et je suppose que cela prend du temps et que tu offres ce temps ŕ nous et aux propriétaires de ce site.je me dis souvent:pourquoi ces gens qui drivent ce site ne pensent -ils pas plus souvent ŕ nous qui le faisons vivre.Bientôt aprčs trois semaines je voudrais changer ma photo d'intro et je ne peux toujours pas le faire.Quelque part j'ai l'impression d'ętre pris pour un "con",ils me disent il faut vider le cache,il faut supprimer les cookies et taratata et taratata,je suis passionné d'informatique et de photos mais pourquoi ne veulent-t-ils pas corriger le bug sur mon compte?
Je ne sais pas pourquoi je te raconte tout cela,sans doute un ras le bol et j'avais envie de parler.

Encore un des ces POV dont tu as le secret et qui valorise ŕ la fois l'effet graphique du pont et de ses arcades et le positionnement impressionnant des ruines du château. Avec en prime ces magnifiques reflets qui ŕ eux seuls méritent déjŕ une photo.

Le point de vue est vraiment excellent,pris un peu en contrebas et qui englobe bien l'environnement pour ne pas oublier le pont et un peu de reflet qui va bien,en tout cas les ruines sont superbe,bravo.
