Place Igor Stravinski, just near the Centre Pompidou (Beaubourg), is well known because of the Stravinsky Fountain. It is a whimsical public fountain ornamented with sixteen works of sculpture, moving and spraying water, representing the works of composer Igor Stravinsky. It was created in 1983 by sculptors Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle. (from wikipedia)

The IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique) is a European institute for science about music and sound and avant garde electro-acoustical art music. It is situated next to, and is organizationally linked with, the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The extension of the building was designed by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers. (from wikipedia).
In the foreground, the Church of Saint-Merri is dedicated to the 8th-century Abbot of Autun Abbey, Medericus, who went to Paris on pilgrimage and later died there. In 884 Medericus, also known as 'Merry' was acclaimed patron saint of the right bank.
The present church was built between 1500 and 1550. The style is 16th-century Gothic, with many features influenced by the English Perpendicular style. The nave windows are work of the early 16th century, and the pulpit is by P. A. Slodtz and was made in 1753. (from wikipedia)
