Photographer's Note

Echooing Tom's post (alimo), here is another shot from the same character... He and his friend, whose photo I shall post another day, were fantastic... They probably spent lots of hours to get made up and costumed...

For many people, The Gay pride is THE event of the year and people come from all over France for it. But It is more than just a big fun carnival, it is also a tribune to cry out loud to the world that lesbians, gays, transgender and bisexuals exist, and should have the same rights as anybody else in society.

This year's motto was about the right to same sex marriage and homoparentality (thanks to pascal for reminding me through his comment...), which will become legal in Spain before the end of this week ,as is already the case in Belgium and the Netherlands (thanks to Rinie for pointing it out also...)...

As i will be for professional reasons in madrid on Friday, i will meet Miguel and make a new shooting from this spanish event on saturday. That should be a lot of fun and full of good energy.

What a fantastic make up job, and eyelashes are just great. Him pointing straight at you grabs the eye and pulls us directly in to the photo.

I do wish there was a different background other than the truck.

Hmmm, Eric, to add to your note, the first gay marriages were in the Netherlands, which thus is finally something I am VERY proud of ;-).

Nice picture, Eric, the monitor I´m behind, doesn´t give me enough detail, so I find it hard to comment ;-)
Of course, after I´m back I will be so happy to check everybody´s Gay Pride pictures, they are lovely, I think even better than last year, and the good thing is, that there were many TE-photographers.

Magnifique le costume et le maquillage.
Jaime aussi la façon dont il regarde lobjectif et sa main pointée.
Ta vue en contre-plongée est trčs bonne et permet ŕ la tęte de ce trouver dans les nuages du ciel.
Techniquement cest bien fait, cest net et bien exposé.
Jaime aussi le contraste entre le côté fragile de ton sujet avec le monsieur bien musclé et le camion du fond.

I do not recognize the bus of Priscilla in this 50T in background. I find the colors a little tristounettes... and remains of agreement with what one says the preceding colleagues.

j'aime bien la compo oů le gars de profil divise en deux l'image. avec un ciel noir/blanc.
sinon t'as oublié l'homoparentalité ds la note.

Bonjour Eric... It´s wonderful to reach my desk in the morning and first: Find out that gay marriages has been approved in Canada, in the other hand, to see this joyfull photo. I´m more disturbed by the man´s arm behind the star of the photo than for the truck (but this is another story)... I also like the sky, it looks like the day was cloudy but you reached to get some contrast out of it. I look forward to meet you here and if there is anyone else that want to celebrate the new law with us, he/she will be welcome. Take care

j'aime bien celle ci, il se tient tel un super heros vetu...enfin peint des usperbes couleurs. Je crois qu'il a eu bcp de succes ;o) il va demander le droit a l'image ;o)

Fantastique PDV ici, bien entendu tu as un sujet extraordinaire mais j'aime tout dans cette compo - le camion bien sur, et ces gens "ordinaires" derriere qui renforce l7aspect asse spcial de ton hero. En plus tres belles couleurs, pique, etc. Barvo, variment! Francis
