An excellent simetry in the picture. The frame, used clearly, is a good point in the picture.

Full points for this major reason. Ive never seen a shot from this angle before of this pyramid. And thats something! Originaliuty, thinking outside the box. I like what youve achieved here. The foreground looks like an egyptian crypt, the pyramid fit that theme but its the Parisienne pyramid. Beautiful shot.

What a wonderfull composition Thorsten.
Louvre's Pyramid is one of the most fotographied monument in Paris, just after the Eifel tower. So, lots of picture allready exists, and to be original, you'll have to seek after a new point of view, or a new composition.
You've done it, and it's very beautiful! Composition, colors, sharpness,... a great shot!

Nico.

Good morning Thorsten -
A unique view of an over photographed icon. I like how you have gone out of the way to show the icon from a unique perspective and in a different light.
I am not sure the image is level or if the perspective of the arch way is cause the illusion.
Thanks for sharing

Excellent! The totally symmetrical composition works very well with the pyramid, which is also symmetrical. The lighting is great too, and the natural frame of the arch is great. Superb!

Hi Thorsten,
Excellent the POV that you have choose, with the door creating a very beautiful frame to the Pyramid. It is very good an elegant composition and with great lighting, still working to ISO 1600 you have obtained much quality in the image. The sky is precious, and I like the symbolic detail of the two lampposts flanking the beauty of the image like two guards.
Nice work.

I love shots taken from this position but have never seen anyone take it with the lanterns in the foreground as you have! It's a really nice effect though and emphasizes the entrance to this grand court overall! Nice!

You've composed this one perfectly - the symmetrical efect is good, from the the two lights in the archway to the smaller lights on the ground leading up to the pyramid. a clear, sharp image with attractive evening colours.

Hallo Thorsten!

Hi Thorsten,
The Pyramid now made so famous by Dan Brown is well known on TE as well. But the one you present here is unique in its POV. The execution is perfect with the strong combination of the natural and artificial light. Even at 1600 ISO there is almost no noise. Great Job!

What a nice picture is this.

Beautiful symmetry and I like the contrast between day (in the air) and night (foreground).

I understand you liked the view of Taj Mahal.
You have the same eyes in this picture.
The white balance and the light is perfect.
With a digital, i would have be scared to use 1600 iso. It's great.

Hi thorsten
A big bravo for the most creative and by that interesting shot of this place. The blend of old and new is well made as is the use of patterns and lines in the soft light. The pyramid is like floating and in all: Outstanding. Good work. (..and a pleasure by this critic that the photo pass the 100 points :-))))

Hallo Thorsten, there are so many shots from the pyramid at the Louvre that it is really easy to make a good study and compare the different tecniques and POV's. This one really stands up for different reasons. The symmetry is superb, the lights outstanding and the composition unique.
Absolutely great work!
Looking forward to see your pics from our capital.

Thorsten,
I am late in congratulating you on this superb shot, but I enjoy the chorus of ET viewers who are in awe. Gretat composition, with both the symmetry, and the natural frame of the archway; the color and definition. I've been to the Louvre, but did not see the pyramid in the best photographic conditions. Thanks also for an image of mine on which you commented ("Walking Umbrellas). Greetings from Virginia, USA

Hi Thorsten,
This one is a postcard! Symetry and light is perfect. Excellent time of day with that orange-y horizon. I think that if you did use a prime, the distortion would not have been there and it would have been even more perfect. I love it though! Gilbert

Hi, Thorsten -
Exceptional light management here. And a good choice to go with square framing as well. The lampposts and the columns behind them somehow make the whole thing look "pharoanic."
How do you like NeatImage? I used to use (and occasionally still use) Noiseware Professional, and lately I've been using Dfine 2.0, which does a better job on most shots.
