Brick Gothic and Baroque

Here’s another view of Neuer Markt in Rostock, the square whose opposite side I showed earlier (https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Germany/photo1587137.htm). The other side of the square houses Rostock City Hall (Rostocker Rathaus). The oldest parts date back to the 13th century and are another fine example of Brick Gothic architecture and resemble the style of city halls in other Hanseatic cities, such as Lübeck (https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Germany/West/Schleswig-Holstein//photo1569699.htm). Part of the old medieval structure was damaged in a storm in 1718 and subsequently replaced by a new Baroque façade.
