OUTER NEUSTADT VII, a photo from Sachsen, East

Photographer's Note

The Outer Neustadt district, on the opposite side of the Elbe, is home to alternative culture. It dates from the Foundation period, with an original flair resulting from the exciting juxtaposition of restored old houses, narrow lanes, secluded courtyards with bars, restaurants and shops covering the whole range from elegant to extravagant.

The trendiest shops for fashion, jewellery and music are to be found between Alaunstrasse and Rothenburger Strasse. One of its highlights is the interestingly designed Kunsthof Passage between Alaunstrasse and Görlitzer Strasse with its craft-art shops and restaurants. An absolute must is also the Pfunds Dairy in the Bautzner Strasse.

This is the 7th & last photo of my mini series of OUTER NEUSTADT.

Hi Rita,

Those colors on the building feel Mexican and it is probably an Latin restaurant. The artwork with little stones above the entrance show the color of the German flag. Good clear contrasty shot! [but I don't like the distortion] :)

When I saw the thumbnail of this building I thought it was at the South of Market Street area of San Francisco. You captured it nicely with good exposure. design wise the building is nice but for the wooden deck on the first level which does not jive with the rest of the structure.

at first sight i thought it was standing somewhere more south in the mediterranean area.
