Photographer's Note
The Castle of Limburg (Limburger Schloss ) stands south of the cathedral, a picture of which I posted yesterday. It was built at the beginning of the 13th century by Gerlach von Ysenburg.
(Source: Wikipedea)
The original image was captured on slide film. It has since been digitised and 'cleaned-up' using Photoshop CS2. Sorry for the over exposed sky but the lighting was difficult at the time of shooting and I was unable to recover the situation to any extent in the post processing work.

Hi, Stephen!
I see the 1991 year journey of Germany's pictures are forthcoming. Interesting picture, the heavy stone blocks and the "fachwerk" building gives a nice contrast. A good concept to highlight the central stairwell. The perspective is very much close. Other details of the images illustrate the rapid development of digital technology :-) This thing fits, (for us critics) take into account :-))
With friendly, Csaba

Bonjour, cher Stephen,

Hi Stephen, 13th century eh? That just blows me away, where here anything more than 150 years old is coveted. Nice use of the vertical frame, the details of the architecture are excellent and the shade managed well. I've been thinking about OE skies alot at the moment as one of my friends has recently come back from Mexico and presented me with a photo where the sky is half OE'd. I think to have "fixed" it on Photoshop or some other software would be making a new reality and not reproducing the image as it was at the time. So as far as OE'd skies are concerned, sometimes I reckon they're better off left at what they were through the lens (or the scanner). Thanks for sharing and I wish you a beautiful start to the week, Lisa

Salut Stephen,

Bravo.
Bonne soirée
Cordialement

Hi Stephen. When I look at the photo, I think first of similar motifs by Frank Kaiser (Buin). The combination of timber, slate and stone is architecturally wonderful. My compliments for this beautiful and well composed photo. Regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Stephen,
Roger
