Aachen is in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and geographically, it is the westernmost town of Germany, located along its borders with Belgium and the Netherlands. Aachen is 65 km west of Cologne. I was there for a congress organised by RWTH Aachen University, one of Germany's Universities of Excellence. Weihnachtenmarkt in this peaceful city was a surprise for me.
