Photographer's Note
There are two different ways to access Eltz Castle:
You either drive to the public parking lot near Wierschem and walk a steep road down into the valley of Eltzbach. This will provide you with the shown view.
You park your car at Moselkern in Moselle river valley and take the pains to hike 90 mins along Eltzbach. And suddenly a view appears before your eyes, which caused an English author to say: "Where was I? And when? Or at least: in which century?"
Eltz Castle was depicted on the German 500 DM banknotes from 1965, representing German chivalry. Taken on film with Canon A1, scan from paper print.

Hello Sven,
you are right , Eltz castle is amazing, like a castle from a fairy tale. I was there a few years ago and I can only recommend the hike to the castle and also a visit is very interesting.Very good contribution to TE.TFS.
