Photographer's Note

The climate of my region is dominated by a westerly flow of cyclonic depressions which are sometimes blocked by stationary areas of high pressure. The frequency of clear days lies to about 35-45 per year. As summer approaches, spring in my region is often marked by dramatic shifts in weather as a winter pattern gradually gives way to a summertime pattern. The second month of spring initially brings weeks of relatively cool and changeable weather. So we were really very lucky this year and the weather in April was very nice with us.

The photo shows Lake Felde near Kiel. Schleswig-Holstein has some 300 lakes, covering 28,000 hectares, approximately 1.7% of the total surface area of the Land. Lake Felde is protected and home of various animal and plant specious.

By the way: today marks the 7th anniversary of my TE membership. It has been a pleasure to contribute to this site.

Hello Harriet,
A lovely capture of this calm and peaceful scene. I like very much the soft lights and colours and the attractive reflections in the still waters of the lake. Also, the foreground shadow play.

One day to late, but yesterday evening I had no smileys, congratulations to your 7 years member of TE.
I think that the weather between Germany and Belgium be almost the same, maybe during the winter more cold in your country and home place.
This is a splendid place, very pleasant to make a pleasant stroll.

No doubting, spring is here!
The willow tree makes a most attractive and effective feature to dominate the f/g and add a link to the jetty, which then becomes the link to remainder of the scene.
The light is soft, giving depth to the colours and creating amazing shadow details. There is a wonderful tranquil ambience. Who wouldn't want to rest here for a while!

Dieses Bild braucht nicht viele Worte. Es ist fotografisch perfekt und das Gezeigte ist einfach nur wunderschön. Eines der schönsten Frühlingsfotos, die ich bisher gesehen habe. Das Licht und die ganze Stimmung sind hinreißend.
