Photographer's Note
The ruin of the steeple of Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The church was built between 1891 and 1895 by Kaiser Wilhelm II, designed by Franz Schwechten, the church was a symbol of Prussian unity and a mark of honor for his grandfather, Kaiser Wilhem I. The original construction was of impressive monumentality and size. During World War II the chuch was destroyed during a British RAF bombing raid in November 1943. The only remainder is the ruin of the belfry - in a disrespectful way called "Hohler Zahn" by the inhabitants, that means "hollow tooth".
