The fair at night, a photo from Hessen, West

Photographer's Note

It was after some heavy rains that i took this scene. Normally there is no water at this place, but this time it was flooded. Usually in Frankfurt there are no greater lakes or water reservoirs that give you the chance to take a nice reflection, so i took my chance.

On the left there is the fair tower (Messetower) and parts of the Frankfurt fair. On the right there are some newer buildings for future office space. It will be called the "european quarter" (Europaviertel).

Hi Franz

For the oe parts of my night shots, I am using the magic wand to select them, applying a feather of 22 pixels then sliding levels to the right until the coloured confetti patterns just start to appear. It improves the image by adding more detail & contrast to around 1/2 the oe areas, but is useless for the central parts that are way oe. Excellent symmetry here with good sharpness & no camera shake during the exposure. Tfs! And Merry Xmas!

luckily it rained!
it provided you with excellent reflections!
a mirrored image that looks fantastic.
Other than adding a border, there's nothing i'd want to change to this scene.
love the illumination in the black hour. the whites come alive very well.
