Photographer's Note

Today, I dared to leave the centre of my home town for the first time without fear to impede the brave and ceaseless work of the authorities and countless private helpers.
I went to Bad Bodendorf, fraction of Sinzig.
This village is separated by Ahr river into two parts. The northern part suffered less damage, although the water reached a distance of 400 m from normal riverbed.
This here was taken 200 m away from the bridge, with the completely destroyed tennis courts in the background.
In the southern part, there were more serious damages, but the debris has been removed in the meantime, and the bridge can again be passed by cars.
It is the first operative bridge upstream from the confluence with Rhine.

Donations are very welcome. A fine overview of available donation accounts can be found on the homepage of southwest Germany's broadcasting company SWR: www.swr.de (only in German).
