Delphi to Itea, a photo from Fokida, Central Greece

Photographer's Note

The in between time after sunset and before blue hour. I have boosted contrast and saturation. The town on the shores of the distant Gulf of Corinth, is Itea. The adjacent town of Kirra is hidden behind the hill. There are several wind turbines on the distant hilltop if you look carefully. Taken from Delphi Town in the mountains behind Athens. The ancient oracle and theatre was in shadow when I visited. It's more of a morning shot.

i have almost the same photo from the area taken some years ago.I like the panoramic view of Itea from Delphi with the sunset colours to make the image even more effective.Well done.

Hello Chris,
We drove from Athens to Delphi some thirty five years ago, only to find the site closed. Haven't been back since. A lovely expansive view over the landscape made all the more beautiful by that sunset sky. Very well exposed with superb colours and clarity. Thanks for sharing.

The view is beautiful by itself, but it is especially the soft tones of so many colours that make it memorable. You found a good moment for this photo and handled the light and colours very well.

the slight increase in contrast and saturation has worked very well in revealing the delicate tones and details.
The recession of the mountains is particularly well handled n a strong composition.

I can only imagine how the view from this high elevation would look on a bright daylight, Chris. Though I can understand that as tourists we can't choose the perfect timing for photography.
Happened to me when we arrived at the Corinth-canal at 18:00, and all my photos from there were not suitable for posting.
Anyway, the landscape is awesome sight, still managed a fairly good view of the area.

Hi Chris,
I had a pleasure to backpack in this region. I have stayed in Delphi and went to Itea as well. Sadly it was time when I had a poor quality analog camera so my photos are really bad. Your picture here motivates me to revisit this wonderful place again. I remember this sea of olive trees. Very impressive view although the light is quite challenging here. The mountain silhouettes on the horizon work very impressive with some more orange color above in the sky.
