Hi TE friends. Continuing the series "The Old Town of Chania", I present you today one of the very characteristic wooden houses of the old town of Chania.
It is located at the east side of the city. The architecture of this type , derives from the Ottoman period and many of these houses are still in a good condition. This type of wooden houses can be found in Istanbul, Boulgaria and Vosnia Herzegovina.

Γειά σου Ιωάννη.
Ναι ένα συνηθισμένο σπίτι στα βαλκάνια και όμορφο.Μόνο τα αυτοκίνητα αν δεν υπήρχαν θα νόμιζα ότι η φωτογραφία είναι από άλλη εποχή, μ'αρεσει πολύ εδώ και ο ουρανός.

Hi Ioannis,
I had a look at your images from Chania and they are very nice.Bring back memories of a visit to Crete some 10 yrs ago.It is a beautiful old town.I like the perspective in this one making the structure stand out.The blue sky and the wispy clouds are a good backdrop.The image is maybe a touch over sharpened.TFS and have a good week.

Η πολλή όμορφη σειρά από φωτογραφίες της παλιάς πόλης των Χανίων συνεχίζεται εύστοχα από εσένα. Εξαιρετικός και πάλι ο ουρανός και η γωνία λήψης. Ωστόσο λίγο υπερβολική η οξύτητα και τα καψίματα. Μάλλον δεν χρειάζονταν...

Γειά σου Γιάννη!

Καί εσένα σε ενεπνεύσε Μούσα, στην αγαπημένη μου πόλη της Κρήτης (αν και εγώ είμαι από την άλλη "μπάντα", την Ιεράπετρα). Τα Χανιά δεν θα μπορούσαν να γνωρίσουν καλύτερη διαφήμιση από αυτή που τους επιφυλλάσεις. Συγχαρητήρια για άλλη μια φορά!

Hi Ioannis,

I like this series of "The Old Town of Chania", always fantastic places with a old architecture and specially buildings, nice composition and good light and colours, maybe better there on the place together with the people drink a cup of coffee or a wine!

Hello Ioannis,
I have just returned home from Hania. I stayed on this street and know you have done well with this shot of the old wooden house. Was it very early before us tourists got out of bed? I took a picture of the dog that lives here. He was sitting on the table. I will post it in the next few days as well as some other pictures. We were not lucky with the weather as there were thunder storms, grey skies and rain most days. You have caught a sky with nice clouds.
