Talking to the cloud.., a photo from Hania, Crete

Photographer's Note

Ok..And what if everything goes wrong?Should you let the situation depress you?..Well..Easy thing to say but not so easy to do..

Anyway..Today was a really beautiful day..The sun was bright and warm and everything around seemed to be happy..Everything..?Well..In a totally clear sky this little cloud was the only thing to disrupt the boundless blue of the sky..A form of solitude?..Maybe..And then..Out of nowhere a hope?Something totally different but still so understanding..Something that made my day..A different "talk" between earth and sky..

(i am not lying on the field as many may think..I was passing by these fields and stopped to have a pic..You really can't imagine the beauty of the landscape around me..)

The main theme of the photo is this little yellow flower..There are billions of these on the Greek countryside this period of the year and they colour yellow every field they sprout in..Really wonderful view..There are also others in red,purple and white..

thanks for your poetic note and your - surreal? - picture! It has a very calm feeling and makes me look forward to spring, too. I like the way the sun is just out of the frame, nice effect!

I really like this image, and your clever title. It's a very simple but well captured composition, without the cloud it would be a pleasant scene but would lack something, as you say that one solitary little white cloud in the big blue sky almost seems to be there for a purpose.

Hello Nikos, with this photo I have the sensation of which I am knocked down in the field enjoying the tact and the scent of the grass.
A pretty composition with resisted colors affluent and I believe that it has been good idea not to remove the sun not to irritate the image.

Υποτίθεται ότι πρέπει να μας μεταφέρεται η αίσθηση ότι βρισκόμαστε ανάμεσα στα λουλούδια, αλλά με την εξαίρεση του "ομιλητικού" λουλοδιού η εικόνα του λειβαδιού είναι πολύ θαμπή και αυτό που μένει σαν αίσθηση είναι εκείνη μιας αποτυχημένης φωτογραφίας.

Hi Nikos.
I think this is a very artistic composition with beautiful colors and superbly managed light. Maybe should you have crop out the very upper part of the picture with the sun (it would have been interesting to integrate it if it was appearing entirely in the picture).
Anyway a beautiful shot.

One of the best simple shot I have seen on TE.The shot is simple yet meaningful the colour of the sky and flowers so beautiful.The cloud here is the cenre of attraction.
