Photographer's Note

Litochoro is a town and a former municipality in the southern part of the Pieria regional unit. It is located at the base of Mount Olympus, on the western shore of the Thermaic Gulf. The town is a popular destination for those wishing to climb Mount Olympus as almost all climbing routes begin to the southwest of the town. A famous son of the town was Christos Kakkalos, who first ascended first Mount Olympus in 1913.

Litochoro is located 22 km S of Katerini, 90 km SSW of Thessaloniki, on the eastern slopes of Mount Olympus, of mythological fame as the home of the twelve gods of Olympus. Two important ancient sites are located in the neighbourhood of Litochoro. Dion with its large archaeological park and a museum is located about 8 km to the north.

Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece (2918m) and you can see it's peak (Mytikas) at the back

Hi Piotr,

The length of the street is giving depth and perspective to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the houses and of the mountain in the background. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Hi Piotr,the view is very beautiful on the peak at the top while in the lower part it is not exciting, and shows the chaos created by tourists and inhabitants, but a fundamental stop for those like you who love climbing the mountains, however the photo and the notes are also interesting for this kind of hiker. Interesantan i lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lepa ulica sa automobilima, drvecem i planina u pozadini, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblacima koji dolaze i najavljuju promenu vremena.

Hello Piotr,
Rural town with magnificent mountains scenery from one of the crossing roads. Though the weather was not best favorable, we get an imposing sight of the giant cliff ahead.

Hello Piotr,
The light was a bit difficult but the dramatic setting of this town is obvious. The mountains rise very steeply, just like huge walls surrounding the town. The street and the long lines of parked cars give the photo fine depth.

A nice view down the street in this mountain village. The view in the background is really beautiful with those steep cliffs and green slopes. The orange roofs add a nice colour contrast.

a nice view of the huge slopes covered with snow ahead, the weather wasn't nice for photos but you got a nice image, with a great local mood. a not usual image of greece.

Jakze trudno byloby mi zgadnac ze to Grecja!
Nawet pogoda taka pochmiurna niczym w Anglii no ale tu nie ma tak wysokich gor.
Przyjemna kompozycja z ulica na pierwszym planie i wysokimi gorami w oddali.
