Photographer's Note
At the very tip of the island of Santorini, Greece lies the remains of the Kastelli (Castle) of Aghios Nikolaos, which was destroyed in the earthquake of 1956. This castle was built in 1482 to protect the village against the increasing threat of pirates and sits right on the edge of Oia. Unfortunately much of the castle has long fallen into the sea. This is the famous place where tourists flock every evening, to see the fabulous sunsets.

Hi Brian, What a gorgeous sea view with strong light & the deep blue colour of the water is beautiful, the lovely architecture in the foreground leads the eye into the picture wonderfully, I like the vertical composition & the frame works well, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

hello Brian,
classic photo, but I never get tired looking at the images from Santorini, the saturated colours and geometric shapes of the buildings always look great. good use of the brick wall on the right to add a natural frame.
there seems to be a slight barrel distortion for the horizon, but that's something you can easily correct.
best,
Kristine

P.S. How long did you stay in Greece? It must've been very long? Or do you reside there? Great photos!

Hello Brian,
I just discovered now your gallery. I love it. You know how to capture the beautiful constrasts in the Greek landscapes. The mix of deep blue in the see, light blue in the sky and this ochre ground color is so suberb.
Have a nice day.

Hi Brian,
What a rich and sumptous array of colours, I must admit to missing blue skies, what with living here in rainiy Ireland :) Santorini looks like an amazing place, a photographers dream and a place I really hope to see someday. Beautiful shot, thank you.
Best wishes
Noel
