No, they are not ruins dating from the Antiquity, these are more recent!
Danakos is a very small village hidden in a steep-sided valley in the east of Naxos. A spring of pure water in the shade of an immense plane tree where play the children of the village, a café, a taverne (a very good one!), some houses staged on the mountain, of which some are in ruin here is to place the village.A café, a tavern (very good one!), some houses staged on the mountain, and some of them are in ruin... this is the village !

About this house, there was not more than a big wall with these two openings of windows. Through windows, I perceived a little sky and the other houses in ruin... on the wall some inscriptions and some drawings the origin of which I don’t know.

It is a village in which I liked a lot walking . A very beautiful paved path allows to rise up to the strengthened monastery of Fotodhotis over the village. A very beautiful walk during which I met only a farmer with his donkey.
