Ferns are a common element of many deciduous forests in Greece, especially in oak and chestnut woods.

About the photo: An autumn "classic" view, the ferns of a small chestnut grove in Ano Hora of Nafpaktia have been turning light brown or yellow from their lively green colourations (in the photo the brown colourations dominate, however you can have a glimpse of all tones). The surface of their leaves is almost silvery against the sun. Here, having chosen a POV "against the sun" and having measured light against some dark part of the wood they appear almost white on the camera...
