There was such calmness yesterday afternoon in Ayia Marina but the clouds had been patiently accumulating and this morning we had a tremendous storm.

(I think the rocks in the foreground look like crocodiles:)

You are definitely right, Ourania, you got a crocodile on shores of Leros, and a baby one next... at least from this angle and shades it doe's look like.
Fine afternoon ambiance, good view over the bay, with clouds built on the far horizon, and the known red roof windmill in a fine off-center view.

Hello Ourania,
A calm and peaceful scene despite the impending rain. The windmill makes a good anchor point as we look out across the bay toward the lighthouse. Very appealing soft light and pastel tones. Easy on the eyes, I like it a lot.

Trčs jolie composition bien équilibrer, j'aime le rouge des toits du moulin flottant et des maisons du bord de mer, je ne pense pas allée me baignée a cet endroit avec ces formes étranges, qui ressemble en effet a des crocodiles :-))

Hello Ourania,
A new POV, a different light, another kind of clouds, and a well known view looks fresh and exciting. The light is really terrific and the light blue tones with touches of pink are delightful. I am no master of analyzing Greek skies but those dark clouds would make me believe that trouble is coming up.

mi ricordo questo soggetto che avevi ripreso da altra angolazione e con mare piuttosto agitato, ma anche in questa la composizione č perfetta ed il formato verticale ci sta molto bene.
Ni piacciono molto anche i colori delicati che sono il risultato di una luce molto morbida per la presenza delle nuvole che offuscano il sole.
Sono le atmosfere che a me piacciono molto, anche se il gusto degli amici di TE sembra essere orientato verso i colori vivaci e le luci molto brillanti, cosa che io non condivido.

I like the soft pastel colours, high pov and the superb graphism and partial silhouettes of the fg cliff and rock. The sunlit windmill makes a fine focal point. Good sharpness and well framed and composed. Have a great weekend!

Hi Ourania, Well captured seascape scenery with open sea. The rock in the FG on the right side enhances the depth of the frame. The two rocks are an great idea to included in the image too. It would be better presented if the light house is not hiding from the tree. Thank for sharing

Yes, a very peaceful cove, this must be the calm before the storm. I see what you mean by the rocks, the momma crocodile is swimming towards the windmill.
Is that windmill one you have photographed from the opposite shore a while ago? I remember wondering how it survives the winters.

Aprčs la tempęte le calme, une belle présentation de cette baie avec une mer calme et des tons de gris comme le ciel oů l'on peut deviner un peu de bleu, le moulin sur le rocher bien situé dans ton cadrage, l'ensemble donne une belle composition
Oui tu as raison pour la forme des rochers, on dirait la forme du çrocodile.....

I remember waiting for storms to arrive on Greek holidays, a real sense of anticipation and yes a "smell" of rain. This image captures that magical mood so beautifully. A delicate and subtle shot but so gentle and beautiful.

Bonjour Ourania,

J'aime beaucoup le choix du cadrage vertical pour cette composition. Il permet de montrer avec netteté une grande partie de la côte et place bien le moulin au centre. J'aime bien le bleu doux du ciel.

first of all I like the title of your picture,which brings us in the special mood of the photographe scene.
We can clearly feel the peaceful atmosphere and almost smell the rain.It´s also a best example,that the rain doesn´t have to mean a bad day for photographers.You proved we can also sometimes benefit from it.
Perfect composition,which captures not only the mood of the scene,but also the beauty of the Leros coastline(you´re right the rock emerging from the sea looks at the first sight like a crocodile:)funny element to complete the magnificent composition!

Two surfaced 'crocs', the rugged rocky cliff and touch of red form a fine display upon a calm water in almost diffuse muted lighting except for a bit of bright light in the sky. A well taken shot with different conditions captured from a great point of view with loads of interest throughout the image i think the backdrop also helps to keep the main subject in focus as added interest. Lovely & peaceful shot, Congrats

Its impossible not to love the small of rain, and here in Ireland its a smell we are well used to! Beautiful view, I see the windmill has managed to be in the shot, always nice to see those unique buildi9ngs. And I agree, that does look like a crocodile, a REALLY big one! I hope there was nobody swimming!
