Skiathos island view

Skiathos is the most popular of the Sporades, the islands to the east of Volos and north of Evia. It has much to offer people of all ages and nationalities most of whom find themselves returning year after year. The island is actually the extension of the wooded Mount Pelion and the scenery reflects this. Skiathos is a green island with forests and abundant water. There are fig, olive, plum, and almond trees as well as grapes. Lately the success of the movie Mamma Mia has created a sort of mass-hysteria as people who loved the movie come here and to the neighboring island of Skopelos, looking for the island depicted in the film. They may never find those scenes they were looking for but nevertheless people visiting Skiathos should not be disappointed. It is a beautiful island and really the only criticism of it, which many of the Mamma Mia cultists will soon discover, is the difficulty in getting here. It is almost as if they don't want tourists to come. For some that is all the more reason to go. But you won't find an unspoiled, remote island stuck in some sixties or seventies time-warp. Skiathos embraced tourism many years ago and on some of the best beaches and wooded hillsides you will find some of the finest hotels in Greece

Hi Costantino

Another gorgeous Greek island with the fg pinwheel adding a nice focal point. Good sharpness, colour and saturation. I like the glimpse of the moored boats and bg harbor. Tfs!

This is a photo with a lot of things to watch, taken from inside a café as it seems, looking towards the seashore of Skiathos town. It is indeed an island with much to offer to tourists with all kinds of preferences for their holidays. It's a very nicely balanced photo with captivating colours.

Avec cette terrasse cetete petie roue quei doit tourne au vent la dame quei passe le bateau ŕ quai quel ensemble et bvue avec la mer en fond sueprbe captage.

A lovely summer photo of this island with many attractive elements. The composition of the background with the smaller and larger boats, the water and the white houses and their orange roofs among the trees is very well-composed and the flowers and sofa make a good foreground.

Κωνσταντίνε καλησπέρα,
με τις διακοπές μάλλον χαλάρωσες και δεν σε βλέπω και πολύ στο site. Χαρακτηριστική σκηνή από την όμορφη Σκιάθο με τα παραλιακά καφέ να είναι στα καλύτερά τους τώρα το καλοκαίρι.

Hello Dear Constantino,

You have thought about the composition really well and used the table decorations to great advantage, anchoring the f/g in a creative way. From there, interesting features can be accessed either way but we are very tempted to follow the lead of the pedestrian, around the edge of the small harbour.
It's a beautiful little place, full of charm, neatly captured on this fine shot.

Beautiful promenade, do like seeing this. Very well exposed with lots of intriguing details and some striking colours deserve to be included as plus point to cheer the a bright day. A vibrant shot and evocative comp with silvery shimmering water oozes the pic. Congrats

indeed a friend of mine went for holidays there and I remember asking him why this island. He did mention the Mamma Mia. I have never heard about this island before.
I am glad to see a scene from this beautiful place. Nice composition with the flowers in the foreground.
