Arachova, a photo from Viotia, Central Greece

Photographer's Note

Arachova is a town, and a municipality of which this town is the seat, located in the western part of the prefecture of VIOTIA. Since the 2011 local government reform it is a municipal unit, part of the municipality Distomo-Arachova-Antikyra (There is no such on TE maps). It is one of the highest towns.

Arachova is a touristic attraction because of the proximity to popular Delphi but was developed in the late 20th century with a ski resort.

The urban houses lies from west to east on a hill with a slope of 45 to 50°. The area around Arachova is mainly grasslands and rocky landscape with a few bushes. It sits on a mountain which is located in the south and the Parnassus mountains in the north.

Not that long ago Malgo posted a photo of Arachova.
That was the first time I heard of this place.
Seen from your point of view it looks very beautiful.
Nice framing with the many yellow flowers at the bottom of the picture.
Beautiful alternation of white walls and ref roofs in the village.

This is a spectacular view with that town clinging to the steep hills. Good foreground showing the hills and with the yellow blossom anchoring the photo. A great one.

A very clear and beautiful view of the town in the hills. You found a great vantage point and the sunlight was perfect here. The inclusion of the yellow flowers is very good, they add both depth and a nice colour contrast.

Hello Piotr,
The yellow bushes are the most eye-catching elements of this photo, and they create a perfect foreground. The view of the town on the hillslope is more interesting, but the two features complement each other well, and together they make a good composition. The colours and sharpness are perfect.

Czesc Piotr,
Piekna panoramiczna fotografia. Miasteczko na gorze troche niczym te wioski ktore pokazuje Silvio. Swietnie obramowales widok zolto kwitnacymi krzakami. Super zywe kolory.
Doskonaly reportaz. W takich okolicznosciach kiedy ma sie tyle nowych regionow zaliczonych, rzeczywiscie smutno ze TE mapy nie dzialaja jak powinny. Mozna co prawda na nazwe regionu najechac kursorem i na chwile wyswietli sie region na mapie no ale to nie to samo -i oczywiscie dziala tylko wtedy kiedy sie juz w danym kraju bylo.
Nadal nie rozuniem dlaczego nie potrafia tego naprawic.

Looks like central Italy. I like the fg yellow flowers which contrast so well with the blue sky. Good sharpness and a superb elevated vantage point. Tfs!

my hotel was in a similar town near delphi, maybe it would be the same, it was a city in the top of the mountains with great views. anyway I hadn't such view at distance.
marvelous the flowers in FG and the small houses with the same style ahead. very beautiful photo.

Ty na wiosnę miałeś te atrakcyjne żółte kwiaty. No i lepszą pogodę. U mnie miasto było przez jakiś czas zasłonięte chmurą.
