Photographer's Note

This picture is in a formal sense not part of the Pelion travelogue as it is taken almost two years ago, in September 2002. But it’s shot at the same place, the fishery harbour of Volos and also in the early morning and so it blends nicely in with this 2004 series. It was shot with the trusted Kodak DC4800, which is undergoing an autofocus-mechanism transplant now.

The section of the harbour that’s portrayed here is the one reserved for the small vessels, vending fish directly on the quay.
In the background along the quay perpendicular to this quay the larger craft are positioned.
The fisherman have left, having sold their fish and the only one that is still there is a stray dog, who was there earlier, zooming in and out of the buyers crowd. He’s looking a bit proud and defiant, as a guardian of the deserted quay. Just had to photograph him patrolling his ‘beat’.

There’s one in every crowd is an album of Eric Clapton, released in 1975.
Pic stats: Focal length 28 mm, F6, shutter 1/200, 100 ASA:

PS-E2 tech: cropped, levels & contrast adjusted, blue and red gradient fill frames added to soften the blown out high lights and to add a reddish, retro and desolation accent as a nod to the cover design of the Eric Clapton album, saturation (master, reds, yellows) boosted, USM-ed, frame added and saved for the web.
