Photographer's Note

Hungary has many narrow gauge railways, the trains are smaller than normal and slower but 100 times more romantic. It is worth taking a ride on them (you can see a full list and a map of such trains with timetables on www.elvira.hu)
The train you see here is clambering up into the mountains of Eastern Hungary (Bükk Mountains) near the second largest town and the former industrial capital of Hungary: Miskolc. It takes a scenic route into Lillafüred. Before it used to carry materials for the factories, not it runs for the very few tourists that Miskolc gets. It is worth checking out even though guidebooks on Hungary never mention it.

The photo is special because of the few colours and the little tuft of white steam or smoke of burning wood that these trains use.
