Photographer's Note

Detail of western facade of the Parliament of Hungary. The lights and the composition is aimed to emphasize the neogothic character of this building.

Imre Steindl, who designed some really beautiful churches in Budapest, created the largest parliament building in Europe.

The renovation of this part of the facade finished last year.

It is always a challenge to shoot an original and unique picture of a building photographed milion times a year. This one is quite a good approach giving the fine details while preserving the feeling of monumentality. Free of distortions, good sharpness, proper colours - could any more be required?

this is a well thought composition and pov of very beautiful looking buildings. I like the strong diagonal that really enhances the architecture and shows us many details. Lovely contrast of the dark roofs against the blue sky!
