Photographer's Note
Initially, my urge to go to Iceland was driven by the very few photos a member of this site posted a long while ago. This member is called Lonelywolf and you should really check him out as he has posted some of the best landscape photos this site has to offer!
So, he planted a seed and then it became quite the obsession and I was able to finally set afoot on the land of fire and ice 3 weeks ago. I have to say it absolutely surpassed my expectations!
Landmannalaugar is a place in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve in the highland of Iceland. It is at the edge of Laugahraun lava field that was formed in an eruption around the year 1477. It is known for its natural geothermal hot springs and surrounding landscape. For those familiar with the place, I was located right behind the small hill behind the campground, right were the Bláhnjúkur trek begins.
The road to Landmannalaugar is probably just as fun as actually being in this magical place. I wish you all to have the occasion to go there. Be careful though as there are several rivers to cross with your 4X4!
In workshop you will find a snapshot of my set up to take this photo
taken maybe an hour before this shot particular shot. And for those wondering, I actually desaturated the sky in this photo in order to have a better balanced photo.
cheers!

Hello,
Very beautiful place, even there are no trees or any green spots of vegetation. I like the POV and the high quality. Well seen.

Hi Marc,
Nice motion blur from the long time exposure on the water that has given a soft a silky look. Good sharpness elsewhere and a wonderful warm cold color contrast between the faint orange-pink sunset colors and the predominant blue tones. Tfs.

Bonjour Marc,
J'aime beaucoup cette composition. J'aime le point de vue trčs bas ainsi que l'exposition longue qui donne un magnifique flou ŕ l'eau qui traverse l'image en diagonale.
Amicalement

Hello Marc,
Wonderful image. I really enjoy the river water coloured by glacial runoff. It leads the eye back to that wonderful background and sky. Such a distance between the first stones and the mountain tops. Perfect colours, too. Very well photographed.

Ciao Marc
This has a very soft, ethereal quality to it. I much prefer the soft pastels to over-saturated colours, they really set the mood. Excellent long exposure, silky water and the movement in the clouds. The Thirds framing is spot-on too.
Bonsoir
Lisa
