Seyisfjrur

The last photos taken on the mainland of Iceland. There will come just a few pictures of the return journey and then this travelogue is completed.

Three scenic pictures of the small town of Seyisfjrur on the eve of our departure.
In contrast to our sun-drenched arrival, our departure was shrouded in mist, as can be seen on two of the three pictures.
The main photo shows the blue church, the colourful rainbow path to it and the mist hiding the mountains behind.
The 1st workshop shows the red sculptor that has been placed in honour of the Icelandic composer Ingi Tmas Lrusson, born in Seyisfjrur (1892 - 1946)
He studied music at Seyisfjrur, but was denied a grant for music education in Denmark from Parliament. He graduated from the Commercial College of Iceland, and was most successful in commercial work. For music lovers here a LINK to a YouTube version of the song: a er svo margt.
The 2nd workshop shows that bicycles can be rented here in spite of the mountainous surroundings.
