Another waterfall in my Iceland series, this is the iconic Gođafoss. The water of the river Skjálfandafljót falls from a height of 12 meters over a width of 30 meters. Legends say that in the year 999 or 1000 the Lawspeaker Ţorgeir Ljósvetningagođi made Christianity the official religion of Iceland. After his conversion, upon returning from the Alţingi (the national parliament), Ţorgeir threw his statues of the Norse gods into the waterfall.

A superb capture of the famous water fall . I like the quite natural effect of the long exposure , and the splndid contrasts of colors.

Meseszép tájakon jártál, még mindig nehéz betelni vele. Tulajdonképpen olyan, mintha direkt fotósoknak találták volna ki, például az a kis kősziget pont a legjobb helyen van. Az emberek jelenléte is jó ezen a fotón.

hello Marton very interesting photo from this waterfall, teh tiny figures on the right give an idea about the dimensions of the site, the long exposure create teh classic silk effect on teh water flowing

yeah this waterfall is on my list as well, i'll get to it in August when i visit Iceland again.

so what or where are you standing? are you on a bridge or the landscape? this looks like the perfect place for a slow shutter speed.

I see you gave it 1/2 a second, works for me, looks great.
the blue/grey clouds work well as a contrasting element up top. nice shot. cheers

It looks like you visited all waterfalls in Iceland. It is a country with many wonderful waterfalls.
