Photographer's Note

After our few hours break in Akureyri we continue our drive to the west and to the Skagafjörđur fjord where we will stay one night. This fjord is at the end of a deep bay in the north coast of Iceland. The area is reputed for horses breeding. But we just enjoyed the outstanding landscape and the fantastic light we had that evening ! One more rainbow festival in wonderful icelandic nature ! And of course this very welcome nice traditional house as a good foreground for the composition.

Encore une pépite ! Composition épatante avec cet arc en ciel et la cabane qui ressort comme en 3D , superbe de netteté , sur le fond plus sombe .

Hi Olivier,
A really nice composition, perfect rainbow and as you say, the little house is a brilliant inclusion for the foreground. This makes me smile too, as the little house has a very smile inducing face on it too. Very cheerful scene, nicely done.

A rare moment! Rainbows are not only a wonderful creation of Mother Nature but also something to cheer up a grey day. Its striking contrast and colours are indeed very significant in wonderful glow and dynamic. You are certainly in the right place at the right time aided by the equally attractive small traditional house. The power and impact is in the fact that this nature beauty almost dominates the landscape. Indeed a delightful shot and your pp is seamless. My congrats to your keen eyes, TFS.

Une composition simple et parfaitement réussie, bon équilibre dans l'image avec cet arc bien placé par rapport ŕ la maison traditionnelle avec son toit végétal, bon rendu des teintes.

L'arc-en-ciel est beau mais c'est sa combinaison avec le paysage et la maison au toit herbu qui fait tout lintéręt de cette trčs bonne photo.

I think I have seen a very similar postcard from Iceland also with the rainbow. I wonder if the rainbow is there all the time? :)
