As promised, here is another photo from Vik, again taken from the drone.

I've never seen this view of the landscape before. Here you can see the black sand beach in the fg and in the bg.

See those rock formations in the water, I flew my drone right above them from 5000 feet away, how cool is that!

What most people don't know, is that this large chunk of rock, is actually covering up an active Volcano. This volcano, according to history, blasts about every 70-80 years. And yes, you guessed it, its due. They say they've had readings lately of some trembling and some 'action' happening. This is not good news for the town of Vik. To be honest, its quite worrying.

However, this may be the case for several towns all over Iceland, and perhaps the people are used to such environmental occurrances, i'm not sure.

In any case, I do hope you like this photo of Vik, its a new perspective for me. And please take a look at the WS for a photo of the opposite side of the beach - the more popular side.
