Photographer's Note
Beware of the ever changing weather in Iceland. The weather in Iceland can change from sunshine to blizzard in the matters of minutes and every year people get lost in these extreme weather conditions. After having set out under a blue sky but with howling winds of over 60kmh we got caught in a real blizzard just before returning safely to our hotel in the Husafell region in western Iceland

Hello
Sous le vent la neige le froid l'habillement coloré ressort parfaitement et les traces des flocons qui font de petits trait quelle vue froid superbe.
Bravo et amitié

Hello Daniel,
Maybe people who are not so familiar with blizzards of snow don't understand that this is what they look (and feel) like. Perhaps they think there is something wrong with this photo, but I can confirm that it captures the essence of really bad weather in winter perfectly. The lack of sharp contours and the woman's awkward posture says everything that needs to be said about a blizzard. This is a very expressive and true photo.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hi Daniel
I didn't get any photos on my trip to Iceland many years ago, the weather is something I remember well, a storm blew in as or plane was landing.
Your photo to depict this is very nicely chosen, the blur could be the fault of the weather and even though the woman is indistinct, I can still feel her thoughts in these conditions
Cheers

Hello Daniel,
The swirl of snow totally engulfs the subject, a minimalistic image of black and blue against a backdrop of white. I like this photo very much.
Warm regards,

Hi dear Daniel
So firce blizzrad this is. I guess she(or he) is not so far but not obvious due to so much snow fall. Simple but very impressive image at all.

Hello Daniel,
Really, this blizzard looks dangerous. but I suppose that in march there is still winter , so you had warm cloths. Excellent composition, we can imagine how it is to be there. I like this white blurr.

Hello Daniel,
I reckon nothing wrong with the outcome of the picture, that's probably how it looks on a blizzard. I had experience one in NYC.
Conveyed superbly how it feels.
Have a nice new week,
Ike

Hello Daniel,
Maybe a little bit too cold for this time of the year, but anyway an image that suits the name of ICE land.
This picture and your note about the fast changing weather of Iceland reminds me the books of Halldór Laxness. The changing weather condition is often described and used in his literature.
Your picture is of outstanding quality.

Hello Daniel,
It may have been a shock to the body but there was one pleasing outcome, this photograph. It perfectly captures the cold and the bleakness of a blizzard! It must have been a very difficult shot to take!
In some ways, it has the qualities of a painting!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Daniel,
I'll try for a second time to write a critique on your photograph - the last time my critique just disappeared - something which happens all too often on TE nowadays.
Anyway, Daniel, I've been looking at and admiring this photograph for at least ten minutes and I absolutely love it! It really is amazing how such a simple image of one person standing amidst snow can convey such an intense feeling of chill and cold but you have achieved that perfectly!
Perhaps it is just the very simple composition or perhaps it is your use of a slow shutter speed to allow us to appreciate the movement of the windblown snow. Or maybe it is the very simple colour palette of just blue and white. But I think it is most probably a combination of all those factors and also the stance of the individual too - perfectly captured as they turn their face away from the snowy blast and also lift a hand to protect their face.
Whatever the reason, the effect is very striking indeed. And, together with your interesting note a perfect depiction of the changeable weather in Iceland.
Fabulous!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. I simply must add this to my favourites!

Hi Daniel
this shows the importance of why NOT to wear white!
the blue and black combo works well in the blizzard.
and the blurring effect gives the shot a unique look as well.
wonderful grab photo, something totally different

Hi Daniel
It's like walking in a wilderness and a formidable environment and lovely the way you captured the snow 'blowing in' showing her battle with the elements.
Impossible not to feel cold when viewing this; a dynamic atmospheric shot superbly exposed. Well done.

Dear Daniel
I'm shivering just looking at this shot. It's extremely artistic, very suggestive and technically flawless. There's little to say by way of critique except to sit back and enjoy it. Applause.
Warmest wishes, have a beautiful day

Hello Daniel
Super shot which really conveys the raw conditions. Slowish shutter speed I guess. (WHY don't the boffins at TE sort out the problems?? EXIF data has been wrong/missing for about 7 months now!!) Sorry: I know it's not your fault!

Hi Daniel!
I'm sure it's not so easy to face such weather conditions when travelling in a foreign country but this photo is just great. I like the result a a lot, I guess you really captured the atmosphere.
