Photographer's Note
This is my last post in the Veiđivötn panorama photos and this photo is of one of the many sand dunes that have been created in the desert around the area, with fields dotted with moss as well and lava in some places.
Veiđivötn is one of the last places in Iceland where Icelandic people can go and have fun, their style, i.e. drinking, singing and be loud, as every other place in nature has been overtaken by tourists, but in Iceland there have been several culture clashes between locals and tourists.
The Icelander wishes to drink, be loud and go to sleep very late and wake up late, so they keep tourists up at night, tourists Shhhh-ing to the Icelanders, while when tourists wake up real early, they wake up the tired Icelanders with the noise of their pots and pans and talk. This is known to happen in places like Landmannalaugar, Ţórsmörk, Skógar, to name a few.
So as this is my last post, and it might have inspired you to go see this pearl of nature that Veiđivötn is, then I hope that you'll respect the Icelandic culture and that this is one of the very last places Icelanders can be like themselves.
Have fun :-)

Thrudur!
You know I love your panorama-series. You should get more points for it. I think, the TE-comunity don't understand the beauty of the highland.
And: I love what you said about the tourists. Your are completly right. As a swiss guy, living in Iceland I often find myself between the fronts.
Btw, Laugarás is still owned by Icelanders, I think, to name another last place Icelanders can be like themselves.
See you some time on a campingsite.
Joachim
