Fanad Lighthouse, a photo from Donegal, North

Photographer's Note

Fanad Lighthouse captured on a cold and windy October morning. Just below the Lighthouse to the left is a large cave that bellows with the sound of the Atlantic waves that surges in and out.

This impressive lighthouse sits on the end of the Fanad peninsula on the western shore of Donegal. Because of its location it can safeguard ships in the North Atlantic and the entrance to Swilly Lough.

Hello Stephen - So good to see one of your shots on TE again .... inspirational. I love this. I don't think I have seen such an unusual POV before. The FG grounds the viewer but the waves just blow us away - the movement against the solidity of rock and lighthouse is fantastic. I could wax lyrical for ages. Amazing Photograph ! The POV is excellent. You have captured the clashing of the waves on the rocks. At the same moment you have the cold winter sky where the light pierces through the clouds with great effort.
The details and the clarity is really pleasing to the eye.

HI very nice..looks like HDR processing..but nicely capture..this low take of the lighthouse with the sea is really good and use of slow shutter is beautiful
