View from Tonelagee, a photo from Wicklow, South

Photographer's Note

Hi Guys,

Today I'd like to share my fresh shot taken on top of the Tonelagee. I went to further explore the Wicklow Mountains few weeks ago, and this is where I got. What you can see there is the view from the summit.

Tonelagee (Irish: Tóin le Gaoith, meaning "back side to the wind") lies just north of the high point of the Wicklow Gap in the centre of the Wicklow Mountains and is the third highest mountain in the Dublin/Wicklow area. From the summit the distinctive heart-shaped Lough Ouler is visible on the eastern side of the mountain. Tonelagee is the third highest mountain in the Dublin/Wicklow area and the 33rd highest in Ireland. (by Wikipedia).

Getting to the summit wasn't the easiest of my recent trips (elevation: 817 m += 2,680 ft), but it was definitely worth it!

Prosta kompozycja,a jakze piekna.Wychodzi prawda,ze prostota jest najpeikniejsza.Podoba mi sie spokojny klimat zdjecia,bez przepychu,wspaniale Irlandzkie niebo zawsze na miejscu:)Swietna praca,pozdrawiam!

Hello Darek,

I was begininng to miss your spacious landscapes!
The sense of infinite space is very strong here (like in many of your photos) and really conveys the feeling of being there on top of that hill. I think this fantastic sky is responsible for this feeling and for the beauty of this photo. It reinforces my conviction that art belongs to nature and satisfies our need to be in contact with natural elements.
Colours, light, sharpness, depth: all top quality.
Very fine.

Superb photo again, with lovely rich colour tones and great composition. I like the way everything seems to emanate from the rocks. The clouds are superb. One gets a great sense of space, and I can imagine the wind blowing. The photo looks almost under-exposed, which I really like. Thanks for the good note.

Czesc Darek,
widze ze w trosce o dobre imie Irlandii na TE postanowiles cos wrzucic zeby turysci nie opuscili tego kraju na zawsze ogladajac wylacznie zdjecia Irlandczykow.
Wspaniale niebo swietnie wzmocnione przez PP. Kamienie wygladaja niczym ulozone celowo (z irlandzka starannoscia) jakby moze rzeczywiscie byl tam kiedys jakis grob. Moze pochowano tam jakiegos neolitycznego prezydenta ale potem zdecydowano ze jednak na tak wspaniale miejsce pochowku nie zasluguje i potem grob przeniesiono gdzie indziej ;)
Widok za kamieniami natomiast zdaje sie wylaniac piekny ciekawe czemu nie pokazales wiecej, pewnie sie nie dalo.
Pozdrawiam, mam nadzieje ze pogoda w weekend bedzie sensowna,

You always seem to get these cloud formations in what seems like, movement!
the foreground is very clear and focused, with tremendous depth in the background.
I also like the sense of height in the foreground

One might think the rocks were placed there - by someone for a purpose..!
Or maybe not, possibly just left there by the retreating ice 10.000 years ago...
Today they make a fine eye-catcher for the composition of this pleasant landscape view..!

Prosta, ale światna kompozycja. Wszystko co na pierwszym planie jakby schodzi się z ty, co na niebie dzięki ułozeniu fragmentów skał i kamieni w stosunku do chmur. Niesamowita dynamika tej fotografii, świetnu POV i znakomite światło. No i ten czarodziejski szeroki kąt.
