This looks superb in B&W, the intricacies of the architecture are depicted in fine detail. POV and compisition are excellent. The facade stretches up from the bottom corners of the frame and the domed roof is perfectly positioned. Excellent lighting too.

Wowwww!!! Che grafica! Bravissima, cara Lisa, hai postato veramente un capolavoro in B&W, con una incredibile definizione dei dettagli. Sembra una antica stampa fatta con l'inchiostro!
Non avevo mai visto un simile POV di questa galleria napoletana, ma per fortuna che ci sei tu dall'Australia! :-)

ooooo! my eyes hurt! an amazing shot of the roof of this stunning galleria. Works so well in B&W and the symmetry is outstanding. It is optically a shot that makes you blink. Cleverly conceived and well taken. Bravo Lisa!

Sinceramente, la vignetta non mi dava molto voglia di guardare la grande versione perché ci sono già tante foto di questo luogo su TE ma devo dire che questa è l'una delle più belle che ne ho viste. Il trattamento in b&n e la qualità sono perfetti e permettono di vedere pieni di dettagli.
Questo luogo è veramente impressionante. Probabilmente una foto che proverò di prendere anch'io nel futuro.

Hi Lisa,

Great graphic composition that samples in this picture, the frame is just to show what you teach. The composition of light and shadow is also very well chosen, and the choice of black and white photography, brings more strength to that game.

From here, Italy exist far away, very very far away. But I have been to Italy twice in my life. I was still a student. But I never saw Galleria Umberto, what a shame, how unfortunate. But again I am now lucky enough to encounter this image here at TE. The clarity, precise framing, and beautifully finished black and white image makes me feel as if I am actually standing in this gallery myself. I am certain that the place has an amazing impact for those who visit. I am now visiting the gallery through your eyes. And I consider myself very fortunate. I must thank you for sharing this experience with us.

Hey Lisa,
I hate shopping, and I hate shopping malls, because they are all the same, bland faceless modern warehouses full of shoes and mad people trying to get bargains. But this is something el altogether. I know you have shared this place before, but it's impossible not to get excited every time I see it. If this were local to me, I would be happy to go shopping a lot more often, o the assumption I am allowed bring my camera :) a beautiful choice in black and white too.
Out of interest, are there any problems with taking pictures here? I know shipping centres in Dublin do not like people with cameras at all, and will often stop people with a lag camera in hand. I guess not here though, architecture this epic needs to be shared with the world.

I hope you and yours are all well and good, and that you are winning the good fight. I am still in shock at what is happening the the great Barrier reef and am amazed at the lack of attention it is getting around the world.
