Photographer's Note

One of the intriguing attractions of Bordighera is Hotel Angst, a huge Belle Époque hotel in Art Nouveau style, where the wealthy British upper class spent their winters in the late 19th and early 20th century.
Story goes that one old lady didn't want to move out of her little house for Adolf Angst's hotel project. She refused to leave, until a fire coincidentally solved that problem for Mr. Angst. Some believe that her spirit still haunts the place. And I must admit, empty and in decay, it does look rather ghostly....
