Photographer's Note
100 year-old y lady, its eyes strike my look, the signs of time on the face are very evident but.... the eyes and look are without time.

A fantastic photo, excellent clarity and expression. Too bad there is no note giving us background on this...it might add a lot of information and power to the piece.

She's certainly seen a lot. Good simple treatment for this face full of character.

Good PP on the eyes, otherwise you should go easy and calm down your PostProcessing work on other parts.
For instance, you've accentuated the light too much below her chin which makes her look (sorry I cannot find other words..) like a lizard and gives really a feel of inconsistent lighting.
Keep in mind that much post processing doesn't necessarily mean better. I still believe that a low key/clair obscur effect would have been more appropriate.

Hi Riba,
I saw a tortoise that looked not too dissimilar to this lady at the zoo last weekend :-).
Great image! That toothless smile, those pierceing eyes and the detailing on her neck make this photograph.
Well done!

Fantastic Riba! This is more than a standard head and shoulders shot! Great tones, I love that her eyes look past the camera, and a lovely glow (how did you do that?).
What character and strength she has!

Outstanding portrait work with a very suggestive subject, great lighting and nice framing. The eyes are striking indeed, as they pierce the lens. It could be a professional studio portrait.

This is a great portrait in my opinion. Incredible face expression and I love the light in her eyes. Nice texture on the wall (?) behind her head (seems like calf...).

This is so sharp, with great tonality. Her eyes, as you point out, are so expressive! Great shot--thanks for sharing. Not that it matters what film you use for taking such shot, but I really like the tones--and at what resolution was the scan?

Love the lighting that creates a halo around her silver hair. The wrinkles on her face are so well defined.
Most old faces have such strength and character, and are so peaceful, too. It's funny that people nowadays (not just peple on this site) want to remove wrinkles but appreciate taking/seeing pics of these beautiful wrinkled faces!

Impressing portrait Riba, almost frightening I would say. Your note says enough about the woman. I feel the strength through the shot. Congratulations!

Very touching portrait. I'm not sure about what to say here. I feel something about this picture. Her expression is impressing and it scares me a bit in a strange way.

Incredibile viso: sembra quasi un cartone animato! L'espressivitŕ dello sguardo č splendida, arriva al cuore. Questi sono i volti da incontrare nella vita: hanno sicuramente qualcosa da insegnare.

Hi Riba,
Beautifull portrait! Although her age, she still has a very clear and sharp look in her eyes. Scary almost...
Very nice tone by the way!

Hi,
well respect is a good job
but I think this picture need a better processing
To got a very strong and nice Black and White
to have more expressive sensation from the face
the background is not an important point
,so is easy to change, you do all ready the most hard to do this great picture.
best regard
Gilles
