Photographer's Note

Salt evaporation ponds at sunset, a familiar view to the inhabitants of Cagliari who pass with their cars along the avenue which skirts the long beach of Poetto. The birds you see are flamingos who found here a suitable habitat for their needs. Hidden in the dark background stands the city of Cagliari.

Le saline al tramonto, una vista familiare agli abitanti di Cagliari che percorrono il viale che costeggia la lunga spiaggia del Poetto. Gli uccelli che si vedono sono fenicotteri rosa che hanno trovato qui un habitat adatto ai loro bisogni. Nascosta nello sfondo scuro sta la cittŕ di Cagliari.

Una molto bella ed interessante vista ricca in detagli molto ben captati. Gradisco molto i contrasti forti e sopratutto questo cielo superbe, si direbbe uno cielo fato con uno pennello. Bello equilibro nel composizione anche con un'ampio posto riservato al cielo.

belle photo de ce lac d' eau sslée ou l' eau s' évapore et ous on peut récupérer le sel.
Jolies couleurs, belle vue et ces différentes couche de nuages sont de toute beauté.

Ciao Donato. Ti va bene stasera che non riesco a caricare i WS....Scherzo, per questa non ce n'č bisogno. Il dettgalio č ottimo ma ancor piů bello č il serpeggiare della luce bianca tra arancio e nero. Buona la profonditŕ.

Your contribution to the theme "sunsets" has a very nice and natural atmosphere. The sky is gorgeous with its many levels of clouds. The flamingos are a nice detail. Thanks for sharing!

Gran contributo. Il tramonto sulle saline č magico. I colori delle vasche sono ogni giorno diversi, a seconda della posizione delle nuvole. Progetti per il futuro: devo riuscire a fotografare i fenicotteri in volo!

Latest sunset lights are amazing on clouds and your style using reverse light created a wonderful scene. I like many silhouettes of mountains, flamingos and city textures with eye catching golden lights on sky too. Congratulations.

I agree that this is a "decisive moment", I'm sure the sky did to stay this way for too long, good timing to capture the golden light and patterns of clouds and shadows. I quite like the strong layers in this scene - the grass in the foreground, the pond, then the dark silhouette of the city, then the gorgeous sky. the only comment I have - it is not immediately clear from the photo that the pond is something more than a "regular" body of water, I wonder if there was any way to show the salt itself or the effect it has on the vegetation around the pond. just curious :) and the photo is very nice as it is.

che dire di fronte ad uno spettacolo cosě ben proposto. D'accordo, lo scenario non l'hai fatto tu, ma questa immagine č figlia della tua bravura fotografica e del tuo bagaglio tecnico. Arte vuol dire saper trasmettere emozioni, e qui tu sei un artista. COmplimenti sinceri.

Ciao Donato,
un bel contributo alla serie tramonti, il tuo č sicuramente influenzato dall'aria di mare, che condiziona luce e colore in modo diverso dalla montagna (anche perchč nella tua esposizione č chiaro l'intento di valorizzare anche il panorama: credo che tu abbia ottenuto un giusto compromesso).
Quello che ti invidio sono tutti quei fenicotteri stanziali che avete a Cagliari. Io per fotografarli (negli stagni del Sinis) mi sono sottoposto a lunghi appostamenti, a distanze quasi proibitive, usando un 1.100 di focale. Quando sono venuto a Cagliari la mia focale massima era il 55 mm...

A good sky, but in my opinion, the best part is the lighted surface of the pond, with the silhouettes of birds.

che intenso drammatico tramonto!
Certo la natura in Sardegna e' qualcosa di speciale e di immenso.
Qui nella composizione mi piace la linea che spezza la continuita'del mare, linee rette contrapposte alle ampie nubi.
Mentre ai fenicotteri dovrai dedicare altre foto, qua non si apprezzano molto!

Hi Donato, there's a nice melancholy mood in this one. I like the clouds seemingly bubbling over the mountains in the distance, and the vague outlines of the town against the dark mountains add to the strange feel of the shot. Good work!
