Degradation and abandonment.

One of the ugliest landscapes of Cagliari: on the beautiful beach Poetto a few meters from the sea is what remains of the structure of the old marine hospital.

The building that housed the hospital was built in 1937 as a sea summer colony "Dux". Known example of rationalist architecture (designed by Ubaldo Badas) so as to end up on the pages of leading magazines of the time, the building became "Marine Hospital" in 1947. Then in the 1980 years was transferred in the former Hotel Bay of Angels, and the old structure was finally dismantled in 1988 and abandoned to neglect.

Many projects (including Wellness Center to take advantage of the nearby Sallt Ponds) tendered, but the winning company gave up too many constraints for the supervision of the state and due to the fact that the structure has become a "good cultural interest. "

Still many questions in the Region of Sardinia, but everything is stalled for too much bureaucracy, you think they are eighteen authorities in charge of competencies on the former Marine Hospital.
