Church of S. Agostino - Volterra (PI)
It is home to the Museum of Art built and opened on 20 December 1932, thanks to the canonical Maurizio Cavallini, who took care of the collection of objects and the arrangement in the premises of the current Palazzo Vescovile in Via Roma (today a branch of the same museum).
At the entrance there is an impressive stone architrave of the X century, once belonged to the Church of San Lorenzo in Montalbano (Siena); underneath it several ancient bells, which emerge from the earth, to symbolically represent the numerous bell towers of the Diocese.
