The olive harvester, a photo from Siena, Tuscany

Tuscany, end of october.

Meanwhile vines have already been harvested and the golden colored leaves are about to fall from the poplar trees, the olive harvest season is starting in the Siena region.

Olive oil is serious in Tuscany, likewise say wine or cheese products, there are olive festivals which will be running from end of november to december.

The narrow and winding roads of the beautiful toscan countryside leading to the Abbazia of Monte Oliveto Maggiore provide numerous olive tree fields to spot harvest scenes of the sunfilled olives.

Later on, that olive oil might be a wonderful guest in your plate for a heavenly tagliolini al tartufo bianco and a glass of Brunello for instance.

Hello Luko,

Easy to miss when just looking at the small thumbnail, this needs to be seen in a larger format to fully appreciate it. The leaning position of the man makes it really special and I love the central position of the olive tree. The net underneath adds a bit of strangeness to the scene (to someone like me, who is not at all familiar with olive harvesting, that is). Excellent man-at-work picture. j'aime beaucoup la construction de l'image, mais le plus c'est cette lumičre, trčs réussi ce contre-jour! ambiance tamisée et fond éclatant sans pour autant prendre le dessus

interesting low view of olives harvesting, well framed with the man in action and the sun describing each leaf.
Good light management not to have black or overexposed areas.
