Photographer's Note

This was taken at the grand piazza in Siena.
This piazza is one of the most amazing places I've been to, with such human activity going on there that if you have a passion for photographing people you can take hundrends of photos each session.
I didn't notice these two kids at all until the very second I took this shot. This was truly a snapshot. The second I saw them I took the shot.
Luckily it took me just a second to realize they were very interesting in their pose.
What strucks me here is the conflict. There is an easily visible (to me at least) conflict between the boys' inclination to go with his sister(?) and his need to stay where he is. This conflict I feel is best shown at the hands.
Also, I felt it was best to leave this photo soft, therefore no sharpening (almost) was applied and I went for very soft B&W tones when converting to b&w.
