Great cold in the lagoon, a photo from Venice, Veneto

Photographer's Note

In February, temperatures have dropped well below zero, by freezing large areas of the Venice lagoon.
This picture was taken in the northern lagoon, where we see the combined effects of the freezing and tidal variations. The water, during lowering, has gradually formed an ice edge on emerged land.

Ciao Corrado,l'inclusione della terra e delle erbe tra il ghiaccio ha fatto la differenza creando una composizione molto piu' ricca della precedente,una foto bellissima giocata alla grande nel controluce ed i riflessi,non lo dico per amicizia,e' una foto stupenda.Buona Domenica! Luciano

Hello Corrado - Hard to believe this is Venice; I am so used to seeing brilliant colours under blue skies. I like this... not a gondola in sight! Wonderful sunlight highlighting the surface of the frozen lagoon. A shot full of textures and fine detail. Very nice work. Warm regards Rosemary
