Photographer's Note
Arco di Costantino is a triumphal arch in Rome, situated between the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill. It was erected by the Roman Senate to commemorate Constantine I's victory over Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge in 312. Dedicated in 315, it is the largest Roman triumphal arch. The arch spans the Via triumphalis, the way taken by the emperors when they entered the city in triumph.
Though dedicated to Constantine, much of the decorative material incorporated earlier work from the time of the emperors Trajan (98–117), Hadrian (117–138) and Marcus Aurelius (161–180), and is thus a collage. The last of the existing triumphal arches in Rome, it is also the only one to make extensive use of spolia, reusing several major reliefs from 2nd century imperial monuments, which give a striking and famous stylistic contrast to the sculpture newly created for the arch. This earned it the derisive nickname of Cornacchia di Esopo Aesop's Crow.

Hello Daniel,
Superb night photo, the silver tones of the ancient arch stand out so well from the dark sky. The sharpness is superb too.

Hello Daniel,
You captured the illuminated arch and the light on the trees and the lawn very well in the dark night. The black sky enhances the beauty of the ancient monument.

Hello Daniel,
An agreeably balanced night time composition that puts the monumental arch clearly in evidence. Optimal exposure with good colour contrasts and fine clarity.

Hi Daniel
The glowing historic arch grabs the eye as main interest leading us to the whole night scene with lovely addition of warm tones. There's sufficient clarity for the eye to settle with an extra bit of depth, but the feel is indeed peaceful. Excellent shot, Congrats
Best regards

Hi Daniel,
you are too productive for me to follow all your amazing photos on TE.
This is a fantastic spot which I well remember from Rome. You captured it at a romantic night time, so well exposed. Nice that you included the trees and managed to avoid people it feels so positively empty.
Excellent work!!
