Photographer's Note
Church of San Sabino de Plano - Spoleto (PG)
It stands near a diverticulum of the Via Flaminia, in an area where the discovery of tombs and epigraphic materials from the Roman age has allowed us to attest to the presence of a cemetery.
Numerous re-used materials are used, including a funerary inscription, suggesting a reuse carried out by a stripping of the contiguous burial areas located along the Flaminia. The six large curvilinear ashlars reused along the outer wall of the church's right side apse are certainly pertinent to a drum tombstone.
A mutilated inscription indicates the holder, or rather the holders of the sepulcher, perhaps the Gens Caesia, already attested in Spoleto by a travertine memorial stone.

Ciao Silvio,l'architettura ricorda molto la chiesa di Marina di Pisa che ho visto quest'estate, cattura impeccabile, questa non aveva bisogno della neve per aumentarne il fascino. Buona giornata,Luciano

Hello Silvio,
The interesting note is a good complement to the photo of this very old church. The slightly unusual use of stones of different shapes and sizes is well explained. It is a beautiful church and the photo is perfectly taken with fine sharpness and light.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Silvio,
The tight frame is putting the church in evidence. The point of view is showing the details of the church of San Sabino de Plano. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Silvio,
The reuse of stones is evident on the outer walls. The church may have been restored in very different periods.
It's a very beautiful church and you present it in a very pretty photo. I like the small white clouds in the left upper corner.
Best regards, Paul

what a charming architecture. The central fragment looks almost like a face with two eyes and nose.
You had a wonderful weather day -the blue sky adds so much joy to the scene.

Hi Silvio.
Very interesting this old church with three apses, one larger and two smaller ones, the reuse of large stones from some Roman monument is clearly appreciated.
A magnificent color, which gives the image a lot of chromatic richness.
Optimal management of lighting and sharpness, with a good perspective.
Well done. I like it.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Ciao Silvio
The 3 arched windows of the central tower remind me of a face. Good sharpness & a superb frontal view. Excellent textural details in the stone façade of the church. Tfs!

Ciao Silvio,
When I look quickly at this old church, I see a face. The small, arched windows are there eyes, and the square window is the mouth. :-) The old stones are beautiful. Take care!
