Church of Santa Maria di Cartignano - (AQ)
Santa Maria di Cartignano is one of the most important Romanesque churches in the region. Born as a rural Benedictine church, it is known in the documentation of the late 11th century as a monastery. The structure, totally devoid of roofing, has a three-nave plan and a semicircular apse. The portal has recessed arches, above an elegant rose window; the façade ends with a bell gable with a single archway, placed centrally and in line with it, still has the bell, enclosed by an ogival arch.
