The Cinque Terre are five coastal villages in the province of La Spezia in the Liguria region of Italy. They have come to be among the most popular areas of Italy among tourists. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all encapsulated in a national park by the same name. The Cinque Terre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The five villages are, from east to west: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterrosa Al Mare.

This is the ruins of an old Portovenere church perched on top of rock outcropping on a peninsula sticking out and sorrounded by the Ligurian Sea. Although small it is beautifully proportioned. It is a beautiful structure that is beautifully sited. This is located at the point in Portovenere as you approach the five villages of Cinque Terre.
