Photographer's Note
I was walking along a small and rather boring street in Florence when all of a sudden this came into view!
The lighting on this structure was so magnificent I had to take a picture.
(I never even found out what this place was, but I sure loved it!)
Update: Marjan told me that this is the Sinagoga di Firenze. Thanks Marjan!

Hi Spring.. this is nicely composed. You need to get a camera and start taking lots of pictures. You have an eye for composition already ..the rest is easy.
Get a book called "The digital Photographer" by Scott Kelby...it is easy to read and will make you so much better quickly. If you have any questions on technique email me any time and email Pablo (pablominto)..he is one of the best for landscapes...
Good luck.

Hi Thyme,
I'm now wondering. In the Netherlands 'Thyme' would be the first name... But everyone else uses 'Spring'. Then again, what are the chances that someone's name is actually Spring Thyme?! So I'm now wondering about an e-name and how to address you :-).
Well, not taking into account what is the first name and what is the family name, I have to say that I like this photograph. Nice to see it placed a bit off-center. The blue patches in the sky is pleasant, though the detail on the wall in the bright light could have been a bit stronger.
Hard to say anything decent about it technically, since you didn't add any camera settings or equipment details. But welcome here on TrekEarth!! :-)
Greetings,
Dennis
PS: And yes, 'The Digital Photographer' is quite decent with some good tips!

Great shot! I like the sunlight falling on the building while the sky behind the dome is darker with the clouds, giving a very dramatic appearance. I'm travelling to Florence later this year so I'll have to keep my eyes open for this place. Thanks for sharing!

It is a very nice off-center picture. The colours are stunning and the dome stands out very well. The only minor comment goes towards the tilt to the left. I would have place the fence absolutely horizontal. Of course, the building behind would be horizontal too.

Excellent postcard. The green/blue of the dom is reflecting well the skylight. Good idea to have left the building on the side and not in the middle. Well done. Tibo

Hello Spring,
I'm sure this is a username....but again one must always be careful not to be rude, so for now I'll stick to that. Firstly welcome to TE and secondly, a very nice photo to start....sorry second photo. I too was attracted by the glow type effect on the stonework, which is then nicely contrasted by the blue dome. Although the composition is sound with the dome positioned off centre, I probabaly would heve included more of the iron fencing in the foreground which would have provided a fuller view of the church. Anyway, as the saying goes, that's just my opinion. Well done all the same.
Cheers Grant

Amicalement

Hello Spring,
There is actually a boring street in Florence?! Well, actually no, cos' the one street that was about to be boring was hiding a beauty.
The sun on the building is a beautiful contrast with the rather dark sky in the background.

Hi Spring.
Very nice picture!
The only minor comment goes towards the tilt to the left, as António Ribeiro said.
I'll post a workshop, lets see if you like it!

Hi Spring, A beautiful image, well captured. The great amount of detail visible shows how sharp this photograph really is.Good crop helps this be a well balanced photo. TFS. Murray.
