Photographer's Note

Most of the children in cities and towns of Soviet Union prior school (from 2 till 6-7 years age) visited kindergartens. There they are playing, learning to draw, to create something, to sing and to dance. Beside these children training to behave in society of the same age children. Todays for working parents it is still hot topic: where to left kid(s). In Latvia it is not easy to get place in kinderdarten, because after demographic decline in 1990s many kindergardens have been closed and building were sold or rented to commecial companies. Last 3-5 years birth rate is considerably increased and there is a gap between number of prior-school age children and places in kindergartens. So parents who have got place(s) in kindergarten are lucky ones. But childern sometimes are not as happy as parents about this.
